As everyone knows, Dom Pérignon is a huge, powerful Champagne and clearly one of the wines of the vintage. The 2008 offers a striking interplay of fruit and structure. Today, the richness of the fruit is especially evident. If you can buy a bottle of the 2008 Dom Perignon in perfect condition, you would have an age-worthy and potentially profitable wine – a low-risk investment.

1990 is seen as the best year with most tasting notes of vintages from wineries scoring high.
1990 produced the ripest Champagnes since 1959 and the best quality since 1964. The champagnes display good body and marvelous depth of fruit as well as great finesse and very good longevity. The best will be drinking well for many years to come, this full-body Champagne has Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grape varieties and has been highly rated by critics.

50% Pinot Noir, 50% Chardonnay. Disgorged April 2013. Deeper straw than the regular 1996 vintage Dom P. Much more expressive on the nose, although with lots of evidence of age. Complete and fresh on the palate – much more youthful than the regular 1996. For perfection I’d choose the nose of this and the palate of the regular! Masses of acidity still in evidence. Exuberant, creamy wine with no hurry to drink it.
CHAMPAGNE has been for years, the most stable, low-risk region in terms of price performance, delivering a solid return on investment. The CHANPAGNE investment market is attracting more buyers and sellers than ever before. With a proven track record of performance during times of economic stress it’s easy to see why CHAMPAGNE become one of the best performing alternative investments available

Aromas of crisp stone fruit, tangerine, macadamia nut and fresh bread introduce the 1997 Cristal, a medium to full-bodied, deep and chiseled Champagne that’s seamless and vibrant, with fine concentration and a pearly mousse. At least from my cellar, this remains a very youthful wine, and it’s clearly one of the “sleeper” vintages of Cristal that is drinking well today.

The 2005 Cristal Rosé ages slower than the corresponding white Cristal and opens with very delicate red berry aromas on the deep and vinous nose. Highly delicate and elegant on the palate, this is a deep, dense, rich, chalky and pretty Burgundian rosé with juicy fruit and very fine tannins. Very long but always highly delicate. A gorgeous Cristal!

The 1985 Krug was delicate, perfumed and lithe on the palate, with superb freshness and a more compact frame than the 1988. I came back to it often and never failed to be seduced by its mesmerizing personality. The 1988 Krug was decidedly more intense and full-bodied. It had everything; gorgeous fruit, acidity, texture and loads of complexity. In short, it was stunning.
